Enjoying My Career

February 12, 2011 Default

I had decided to change careers 2 years ago and become a school teacher after not using my education degree for over 30 years.  I have been in the real estate sales career mode for most of my life and became tired of the appraisal career so I thought a change would be nice.  After being forced out of education for unknown reasons I started thinking about what I wanted to do for the next 10-20 years.  I had becme very stressed out and could not seem to relax. Well I found out the past few weeks that Real Estate is still in my blood.  Its fun to wake up in the morning again and have new challenges and have the opportunity to succeed or fail based upon what I do not another person's opinion.  I'm invigorated, excited and even have a smile on my face most days.  If you see this "experienced" (can't say old man) knock on your door with a smile and offer to provide RE services to you or a friend give him a smile back and a listing or a referral will sure help. Welcome to my world.

Window Treatments

February 11, 2011 Default

I personally love all window treatments! I know crazy huh? I really think they bring the room together. I used to order everthing from ''The Country Curtain'' catalog until they really got PRICEY. Now believe it or not I find my valances or curtains or swags etc. at Goodwill. I am usually able to grab waverly valances for 2.99! or even custom made drapes for 4.99  I actually picked up curtains that had a 95.00 tag still on then from Bed and Bath for 4.99. It is so much fun to find great deals like that. Try the goodwill on Daniels it is always full of deals. Happy hunting.

Give Wallpaper a chance

February 10, 2011 Default

Well it seems wallpaper is back and in a big way! Consider wallpaper as an inexpensive way to give a new an amazing look to your home. Some of the new textures out , for example: grasscloth, weaves, look super in the bath. Greens and browns look terrific in the bath also. They now offer so many designs for your childrens rooms, example: robots are the new thing on the walls. Florals look great in a den, and so on. Give it a try.

"HARDEST HIT" Program Helps Lee County Floridians Stay in Their Home

February 09, 2011 Default by Lisa Farmer

Lee County Affordable Housing Dept. has $23 million dollars to help the "Hardest Hit" residents in our area.  So far, I have helped one family remain in their home through this program, simply by directing them there, and I am hoping to hear of another very soon.  With so many families struggling financially, many are facing foreclosure.  As a Realtor, I work hard promoting the wisdom of a Short Sale vs. Foreclosure.  Many many sellers are benefiting by Short Sales - buyers too - Short Sales are great deals!  With the help of this program, however, some sellers don't need to sell - they can remain in their home with financial help for up to 18 months.  For details go to     www.FLHardestHitHelp.org.
